I have to say, every time I see some footage and find out more about this game I am excited. It is a little different from the normal games I play but there is something about playing the part of a Roman soldier that intrigues me and having seen how they make the game I have to say this has to b on my shopping list when Xbox One is released.

I have to say the Call of Duty franchise has been wearing thin on me over the last year or so, to the point I have played way more Battlefield 3 and games like Assassin's Creed 3 and Skyrim, but I do keep coming back to the franchise, mainly because the Clan activity is always the most enjoyable and often most vocal, when I saw this trailer for Xbox One at it's media release, I have to say I am likely to come back to the franchise. What do you think? Is it going to re-invent COD or will it be more of the same old I have to say I like the look of this, not too unlike the Mass Effect series in looks and from a nostalgic point of view, I like the thought of running around as either Spock or Cpt Kirk!! Check out the trailer. I like the look of the graphics for this game, and being a Kinect game I'm sure it will get the pulse racing, which means I should get my lardy ass to the gym to shape up for its release if my experience with Starwars Kinect was anything to go by!! As an avid fan of the Mass Effect series, time can't move fast enough for the release of Mass Effect 3. Check out the newly released footage from Bioware showing off the new multiplayer mode in the game!! ![]() I've been hanging out for the release of Battlefield 3 for months now, when I found out there was going to be a beta version released prior to launch, to say I was excited was an understatement.
Being a Call of Duty follower over the last few years, I have been following the teasers for BF3 closely and because of those teasers, I have decided that this is the game for me for the rest of 2011. I understand the reason for "beta" testing is to help the developers iron out any potential bugs prior to launch but with all the hype prior to it's launch I have to say I was extremely disappointed at all the issues I had actually trying to connect to a server. Being a business coach in my day job, I know the importance of getting your marketing right and the danger of "advertising disappointment" - EA is definitely getting close to doing this, I hope for their sake they iron out these issues quickly. Once into the game the graphics were as I had expected, the frostbite engine is truly a masterpiece, the detail in the environment is magnificent and it is awesome watching someone fire off an RPG and watch a tree fall down (as long as your not standing underneath it!!) The default beta game is "Rush", a game where the players either defend or attack two key points in the map, with up to 24 in a room (not sure if that's the limit for the beta game) it does get intense especially around the targets. The combination of 4 different soldier types all with specific skills means there is plenty of choice to choose from depending on how you want to play the game: Assault: Is your basic soldier set up, armed with an assault rifle, defibrillator and medic kits. Engineers: Are set up with sub machine guns (SMG), Rocket Propelled Grenades (RPG) and repair tools for repairing vehicles. Support: Is set up with a Light Machine Gun (LMG) and carry extra ammo kits for themselves and their squad. Recon: The sniper support and I have to say at this point (because I haven't used this class yet) I do not know what their specialist equipment is - sorry!! Being new to the Battlefield genre I have to say I like the "Battlelog", this is an interface, accessible from the console, the PC or smart phone, allowing you to keep tabs of your progress and statistics and compare them with the overall leader boards or if you are like me, you can filter them to compare with your friends only. This is active in the beta and also worth checking out. Overall, not including the connection issues, if you have not tried it yet, give it a go. I think this game will definitely be the game of the year and I am seriously looking forward to flying around in jets bringing down some wrath from above ...... role on the end of October - I think a sick day at work will be called for!!!!! I can't help but get excited, roll on 2012, this has to be the best game of the year next year!!! ![]() BioWare have confirmed that Mass Effect 3 will be released in the first three months of 2012. The development team is laser focused on making sure Mass Effect 3 is the biggest, boldest and best game in the series, ensuring that it exceeds everyone’s expectations.” said Casey Hudson, Executive Producer Mass Effect series.
There are also 2 new Mass Effect 3 screenshots on the Mass Effect website to wet your appetite. This may well be Crazy's buy of the year, fully destructible environments, all the modern day weapons including the ability to drive tanks, jeeps, helicopters and jet planes all in an environment where it is rumoured the teams are 24 each side!! Check out this trailer, the graphics are mind blowing!! |
